About

Standfast Systems is a veteran-founded, senior-led software firm specializing in federal health-IT modernization and healthcare data interoperability. We help complex health systems connect and modernize clinical data using open standards, with a focus on VistA-to-Oracle-Health interface modernization and behavioral-health / measurement-based-care systems.

Our philosophy is simple: compliance and interoperability are day-one deliverables, not afterthoughts. We build on the stack the team that has to operate it can actually maintain (Java and HAPI FHIR for the interoperability core, .NET where Windows-native is the right fit). The result is principal-engineer depth with direct client access and small-business agility, without large-prime overhead.

We exist because the data is all there, and nobody can see the person. Our mission is to change that, for the clinicians and veterans who depend on these systems.

Founder

Standfast is founder-led by Christopher Castor, a principal engineer with 14 years designing and modernizing mission-critical systems across the VA, the Department of Defense, and Fortune-100 financial services, and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran. His work spans legacy modernization, secure cloud migration, FHIR and HL7 integration, and application security.
